We are all well acquainted with the biblical story of the apostle Peter walking on water, or at least attempting to do so; yet having a deeper look into the story, we can recognize that the apostle Peter was questioning The Authenticity of Jesus.
He definitely knew, The Authority of Jesus, yet he wanted to test out to see, whether or not, The Person Who is actually Walking on water really is Jesus, or a ghost?
When he was finally assured that the person walking on water really is Jesus & shortly after Jesus Giving Peter The Command to walk on water towards Jesus, hence, Making the water solid enough, so to speak, for the apostle Peter to actually walk on it "towards" Jesus, (and please note that this is the key point here), the apostle Peter failed to believe in The Promise & has fallen in the error of "doubting" in The Promise & the very Words of God.
As it is a human instinct to reason things with our minds all the time, so did the apostle Peter & had second thoughts about God's Words… How crazy is that? Yet again, how true is that…? Don't we all imitate the same behavior as well…?
But truth of the matter is, if The Lord Himself Gives you The Command to walk on water, what could possibly go wrong? How can you possibly "doubt" in your own heart & mind…?
The answer to that question is fairly simple, you see we always inject our own logic & thinking into the equation, trying to validate the issue with own reasoning of the proposed idea & the reality of the matter; failing all the time to realize, that The Maker & The Commander of the whole universe is before us, giving us The Command to actually "Walk on Water." We always tend to completely forget this fact & apply our understanding as to how we perceive the issue, the way we know how to actually work with it, always failing to realize, the Identity of The Person Who actually Gave The Command.
Very idiotic from us don't you think…? Nonetheless, we still do it.
When I begin to believe in the promise, I do start to walk for a few steps, however, immediately after I begin to face some troubles, tribulations or hardships, I immediately fall away & that's when I really begin to actually "sink." Exactly as the example of the apostle Peter, when he saw the waves & the wind coming his way, he started "doubting" that he could actually continue to walk on water & had all the flashbacks about the impossibility for this to be really happening & that's exactly when he began to "sink."
Maybe when we face problems ourselves, we do not physically sink ourselves, as the original example of the apostle Peter, yet when really indulge in our problems, placing too much weight on them, we start to actually drown, forgetting all along, that The Creator of the universe Has Given us the command to walk on water.
We constantly try to reason things with our mind instead, thinking mistakenly to ourselves, that it can't possibly be "real," it's against the very laws of nature, for water to sustain a human being standing on top of it without drowning.
And that's exactly what it is, yes it is against the laws of nature for things to go this way, but when The Creator Gives The Command, He Is Able to Make the very laws of nature subside under your feet. For He Is The Lord God Almighty, that the creation Surrenders to His Commands.
At the end of the story & when Peter realized that he's actually beginning to sink, yet he is before The Lord God Almighty, he immediately cried out "Lord help me" and instantly The Lord Reached out His Hands to Save him.
For this is the nature of God, whenever we are in deep trouble or stress & we call on to Him & He Immediately Responds and Rescues us from the terrible fatal problem that we are facing.
As the original biblical story progresses & when Peter restores his beliefs in God one more time, we see both Peter with Jesus Walking back on water & climbing back to the ship.
In Conclusion, I would like to emphasize the following:
When we fall out of faith & whenever we renew our faith in God one more time, we are able to walk on water, with Christ for a second time, after having reaffirming & strengthening our belief in God once more.
Be assured that God Will Always Be there, Waiting for you to call out to Him for help, for you to reach out your hand and cry Abba Father & instantaneously He Will Intervene.
Faith, is against logic, it is the supernatural, it is a "Miracle," that is out of this world & can only be Performed by The Almighty God.
Bless you in The Name of The Lord,
humbly,
